Children & Youth - 5th to 7th Grade

What to expect on Sundays?

Youth in fifth through seventh grades meet at 9:30 a.m. in room 110, so kids report directly to the classroom and do not begin in worship.  This class uses Connect, a Sparkhouse curriculum that seeks to connect Bible stories with the way tweens live and think. Kids remain in the classroom until parent pick up after worship ends.

ToGather

 Sunday night events 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Twice monthly, families are invited to join us for an intergenerational evening.  It begins with a 30-minute Taize-style worship designed for older elementary youth and up, giving families the opportunity to worship together if they choose. Alternatively, families may choose to place younger children in on-site childcare during worship, where children will have space and time to socialize and play to build connections and community with other kids.

After worship, childcare will continue while adults and older youth (grades 5 and up) join their own groups for another half hour or so.  Elder Colleen Marsteller will lead a Bible study for the adults, and youth groups for kids in grades 5 and up will meet.

The evening concludes with an optional dinner – we provide the main course, and families can bring a side or dessert to share.  Stay for as little or as much as you’d like; the evening will wrap up by 6:30 p.m.  The upcoming ToGather dates are 10/20, 11/3 and 11/17.
