Winter brings seed catalogs and dreams of summer glory to gardeners. This year, make those dreams into concrete plans and envision bountiful, healthy native plants that will feed your soul along with your soil. We have some suggestions of where to find both native plants and seeds:

Back to the present in your kitchen, make a few changes to maximize efficiency. Buy shelf-stable staples in bulk and store them in Mason jars; use cloth napkins, which you can easily stitch up yourself from upcycled fabric; stick to reusable storage containers; make food from scratch. All steps you’ll be glad you took when it's too snowy to go out!
