Did you know that Ellena Gibbs—the daughter of Nick Gibbs and Bethany Barrone Gibbs—won a national poetry contest!? This is her prize-winning poem, The Wind:
The Wind
I drive currents through the soft, green grass
To steer your wandering feet
I wave the tall and sturdy trees
To say "Hi!" when we meet
To you I softly whisper tales
My most beloved stories
Tales of joy and sorrow
And of cowardice and glory
I watch you as you live your life
And guide you as you do
But you neglect to notice me
Although I care for you
Out of all my many hopes
I wish one most sincerely
The hope that you remove your blindfold
And finally see me clearly
