Update on Medical Debt Campaign
As of the middle of December, we have raised about $40,000 for our Synod of the Trinity Medical Debt Campaign. This will abolish nearly $4,000,000 in medical debt for our neighbors living in the Synod of the Trinity, which is great. But our goal is to raise $500,000 by asking every member of the Synod of the Trinity to donate at least $5. We have sent emails about our campaign to all the churches in the Pittsburgh Presbytery and all the Synod of the Trinity Presbytery offices . Articles have appeared in the Synod and Presbytery newsletters. I know it is hard to believe but it seems that folks don’t read either their emails from us or their Presbytery newsletters. We need your help! Here’s what you can do.
• If you have given to our campaign, please add your name to our bulletin board display between the Friendship Room and the Kitchen. If you haven’t given yet, please consider donating, either through the church office (put RIP Medical Debt on the memo line of your check) or directly online through our webpage.
• Invite your friends (especially if they are Presbyterians) to participate and to spread the word to their friends. Click here to share the leaflet with them which has information about medical debt, RIP, and our campaign. (Kim, please include a link to the leaflet with the colored banner). You can also share with them the link below to our BHCC website which contains this leaflet and even more information about our campaign.
