On July 2, 2022, a group of 4 members of Bower Hill Community Church hiked the Hendersonville to Valleybrook Road section of the Montour trail. The rain stopped right before the hike and the cloud cover kept the temperatures reasonable. The start was at the parking lot by The Tandem Connection bike shop. We hiked to the bridge over Chartiers Creek which has a great view of the Valleybrook golf course and of an active railroad bridge over the creek. We proceeded through the Greer tunnel. On the other side on the tunnel is a bridge crossing railroad tracks. We could look down and see the tunnel the trains use to get through the hill. We walked further to the bridge that crosses Valleybrook road. Retracing our steps brought us back to the parking lot at The Tandem Connection. We rewarded our efforts with ice cream at The Tandem Connection.
