On November 5, 2022, 8 members of Bower Hill hiked a trail in Hartwood Acres County Park. We did the purple trail which is a loop trail. Starting at the parking lot below the mansion, we quickly found the purple trail. The trail circles around the hills with switchbacks for the steeper sections. All the leaves were off the trees. While it was cool to see a bed of leaves covering the forest floor, it did make it difficult to see the trail. Also, the leaves covered all the roots and stones on the trail so occasionally the footing was a challenge. The weather was great for an early November. Sunny and in the 60’s during the hike.
