Ponderings from the Parish Associate - March 2022

The March weather prediction is part of the old adage that if the month comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb. So much of our news now seems to sensationalize the prediction of weather. It is no longer just a prediction of temperature or if we will see the sun. The report is now captioned, “The Severe Weather Team Report.” In reality, it may be nice to know what to expect, but we really have no ability to change what occurs.

In life we are told to plan for what is ahead. The finance people have great formulas as to how we should prepare for retirement. The pharmaceutical industry has all kind of drugs to prepare our bodies for longer life. And before a trip, our mechanic will prepare our car for the road ahead.

As people of faith we really need to reduce our anxiety about all the tomorrows that lay ahead of us. The future is unknown and is beyond our control. The absolute constant is that God is with us regardless of the events we experience. We will never be beyond the love and care of our creator.
