In the cold and snow of the winter season, the church begins its season of Lent. It is no surprise that history tells us that the selection of this time may have been intentional. It is out of this time of gloomy weather that we approach the blooms of spring and the celebration of Easter. The timing is right to experience both the resurrection of Jesus and the breaking forth of new life in the garden and on the trees.
Through the time of introspection that comes with Lent, let us anticipate the joy of Easter just as we experience the anticipation of the birth of the Christ child. Each day let us think of a blessing that we have received. Help someone else to move from a time of sadness and despair by our action, our prayers and our firm hope couched in the new life of the risen Christ
