Tuesday November 30, BHCC will serve a meal for approximately 70 people.
The meal will be served indoors at Hot Metal Faith Community 2700 Jane St, 15203.
10 people are needed to set up tables, plate the meal, serve the guests, clean up/buss the tables and clean the kitchen once we are done serving. Our time at Hot Metal is 4pm-7pm. Community guests dine from 5:30-6:30. Kids will need to be vaccinated to plate and serve the meals. Unvaccinated kids are invited to come and work with Karl Casey to help with The Closet, a ministry that provides clothing and essentials to those in need.
The Meal - The Mission Committee is buying the mail dish - Fried Chicken. Help is needed to make the sides; Roasted Potatoes, Salad, Rolls & Dessert.
4 people are needed to cook 10 lbs. of roasted Yukon Gold potatoes
Cut up potatoes/skin on into chucks. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper & bake. Large foil pans are in the 2nd white cabinet in the BHCC kitchen for you to use. PLEASEuse these pans!! We will reheat the potatoes at Hot Metal. Drop off the pan of baked potato chunks in the BHCC church refrigerator by 2 p.m. on November 30.
4 people are needed to provide salad fixings that includes lettuce or lettuce mix, cucumber & tomatoes for 20 people.
This is simple! Please buy the sealed bags of salad like the ones you buy at the grocery store. Cut up cucumbers and put them in a separate baggy or Tupperware and then do the same with the grape tomatoes. We will assemble a large salad for serving at Hot Metal. Please leave your salad bags and fixings for 20 people in the BHCC church refrigerator by 2 p.m. on November 30.
7 Bundt cakes that can be sliced into 10 servings.
Please wrap cakes in plastic wrap on a sturdy plate and leave whole. We will slice for serving at Hot Metal. These can be made ahead of time and frozen. Let me know if you leave a cake in the BHCC freezer. All others please leave in BHCC refrigerator by 2 p.m. on November 30.
3 packs of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls 24 count.
